Okay...so I go on the OPA greekchat boards every so often, and my signature on there says about being in phi chapter and being omicron class, and being alum now. It also says how I want to, hopefully, bring OPA to NCSU. Well...Ginger, VP of Expansions for OPA saw it...and so now I've been in a bit of contact with her about starting OPA here at NC State! So we'll see what happens! I know through facebook, and myspace, I've talked to a Nu chapter alum who's over at UNC for grad school, and an Epsilon alum who's now down in Fort Bragg. So...we'll see what happens!!!

Hey girls! I just wanted to introduce myself! I'm Jessica and I pledged Phi chapter at Arizona State in Fall '05 as a part of the Omicron pledge class. I am actually now alum because I'm transfering to North Carolina State University, which unfournately does not have an OPA chapter...but I am seriously considering on starting one there! I love OPA!!!

An introduction [Feb. 22nd, 2006|10:08 pm]

[mood |excitedexcited]

Hey Girls! I attended a meeting tonight for the charter chapter at Kennesaw State tonight and just wanted to introduce myself as I am very excited about the organization. I am a member of a NPC sorority but they don't have a chapter at KSU so I'm excited to feel like I belong to something again (and to be able to help out my community!)! We are making cmapus history, as will be the first service organization on campus. Go OPA!

Anyway, my name is Sarah and I am a Jr. and marketing major at KSU, Kennesaw, GA.

OPA Recipe book! [Mar. 16th, 2005|12:57 pm]
omega phi alpha ~ sisters in service

[mood |creative]

I'm posting this e-mail that Maria sent to me. I think this is a great idea!

Hopefully by now you have heard that the alumnae of OPA are publishing a cookbook as a fundraiser this year.  We still need your help with recipes!

Please submit recipes for anything from drinks to desserts, soups to salads, casseroles to entrees!  All we need is the title, list of ingredients, and directions either as text in an email or in a word file. Submit as many recipes as you want - be sure to include your name and chapter (active and alum, if applicable).  If you're feeling creative, change the name of your recipe to something related to OPA - the most creative just might win a prize.

We need your recipes by April 1 - the sooner the better.  Send emails to me at this email address mudpuppy1@gmail.com.  If you've already been contacted about this with another reply email - that's fine too.  There are several of us soliciting these for the book.

Don't procrastinate - send those recipes now!  And watch for info about how to get a copy of your very own.  More info closer to convention. Please pass this message on to any sisters who may not have heard.

[mood |chipperchipper]

Hey guys! I wanna write an article for the Chevron about LiveJournal and OPhiAs. If you wanna be quoted respond to this and I will pick the best few quotes.

1. What value do you think LJ has added to your OPA experience?

2. What is your fav thing about LJ?

3. Would you encourage others to join? Why/why not?

4. What other thoughts do you have about LJ and OPA?

Thanks guys!

OPA luv,

Convention 2005 PR [Feb. 6th, 2005|02:06 pm]

Who all is going to convention this year?

I have been using evites for alum events and was wondering what you guys thought about this:

I would like to work with each chapter to set up an evite for their alums to get more alums to convention. My thinking behind this was that Epsilon alums will more likely come if they see other Epsilon alums going just like Chi alums are more willing to go if there see other Chi's are going. (Versus having a massive 500 person evite). Plus with evite, people can post short messages and maybe will encourage others to go.

What do you guys think? I figure I would work with your alum chairs and she and I would be on your invite and then your alum chair can add the alum emails she has for the chapter and I can see what else I can get from nationals.

I am a young alum and trying to get as many other young alums to go so we can go have fun :)
